Pardon the cliche name for the cache. If, when you get out of your car you look upslope just about 30 minutes you'll see a small rock with a pinkish-red cross painted on it where someone apparently buried their pet, hence the cache name. This should be an easy find on the way up or down the road. There is a slight pulloff if you want to use it, or you can just pull off to the side of the road.
This was the site of one of my research plot when I was doing my master's degree in entomology about 4 years back. Sadly, the whole hillside burnt before I could do any research at this particular spot so I had to find another suitable sagebrush habitat for that particular plot. You are looking for a smaller container without a pencil so please be sure to bring your own writing utensil. Enjoy the view from here and from the caches farther up the hill.
