Geocache Description:

This cache is one in a series about the Battle of Marianna.

DO NOT SEARCH FOR THIS CACHE AFTER DARK!

This cache is located very near where some eleven unknown graves are at Riverside Cemetery who may have been patients who died at the Confederate hospital or they may have died during the Battle of Marianna. Scattered throughout this cemetery you will see flags that represent the final resting place of soldiers.

Union soldiers who died at the Battle of Marianna were buried here, but later the Federal government removed their bodies to the V. A. Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida.

Finding the cache does not involve walking inside the fence near GZ.

More information about this location can be found here (visit link)

I am not affiliated with the web site Battle of Marianna (visit link) but there is a lot of detailed information and photos to be found about the battle through this site. I recommend you take time to read about this historical event.
