4th in a series of 4 family-friendly caches, all within 300m of trailheads or parking. Please do not remove the "gold" item. It is not a trading item. Ignore the number written in the lid.
Canadian Pacific, they were the best, They connected Canada's East and West. The great event, that all did like, Was the driving of the final spike Which was to be GOLD (Or so we're told), But iron was used - rather funny, For, by now, after 10 years....... The CPR Was low .......on money!! In honour of my grandfather, Bert Liberty, who worked for the CNR for 50 years. He was awarded the MBE for his work as Division Freight Manager in Ottawa during WWII. Upon retirement, he was rewarded with a "GOLD PASS", which entitled him to free travel on the CNR. PLEASE NOTE: There was a gold spike in the original container, but whoever destroyed the container also "lost" the spike. So the spike is there, in spirit only.
