Just when you thought it was safe to go out again, the Farnham Ramble has been extended. A further batch of caches has been added, beginning on the Shepherd and Flock roundabout, and following a route to the South and East encompassing Moor Park, Waverley, The Sands and Runfold. The total distance will be 8 or 9 miles.
This time, there will be no clues to collect as you go round, but the caches will consist of a mixture of Trads, Multi’s and Puzzles, some of which may be challenging. There will be a further Bonus Cache that can be found when this new series has been completed.
The series has been planned and put together by Kitey and Westley & Buttercup. Responsibility for setting of the caches has been split between us on a section by section basis. The caches will be released in blocks of 4 or so, to allow all a chance to register some FTF’s on the series.
A Traditional Cache in a somewhat unique location, just outside Farnham on the A31 is the Shepherd and Flock Roundabout. Nothing unusual about that.....accept there is a village on the roundabout. This village includes a pub (site of the immensely successful May 2009 Farnham Frolics Cachers Meet - where were you?) and numerous interesting residential properties.
I assume from the architecture of some of the buildings that they were here before the roundabout was built. In a way it's all rather nice...
You are looking for a small sized cache hidden about 5 feet up. Please be careful when retrieving/placing the cache as it would be all too easy to place it in a way that it becomes too obvious and muggles would see it. The cache is placed just off a road that is also a bridleway.
Please refer to Farnham Ramble Extended #2 for the next cache on the route.
Happy Caching!
