Closest parking N 32 48.6953 W 085 50.1446. Easy find on Smith Mountain. It's Alabama Power Company land. It's about .1 mile uphill from parking to the cache. The dirt road can be driven, but driving is discouraged and there is a gate that could be closed.
This is a great place, though it's in desperate need of cleaning up. The site is an old forest ranger station that burned. The stone foundations and the tower are still there. Great views of the sky and Lake Martin. Some people do some rock climbing here.
