Geocache Description:


Cache is released as part of the "Cartoon Cache Series" for the "Rippin 'Round the Red: Looney Toons Poker Run" event, May 2009.

The cache is located a short distance off a red dirt road that is not maintained during the winter and may be muddy in the spring and after rain. No bushwacking is required.

CHARLIE BROWN (aka, "The Round Headed Kid") (see link (visit link)

Charlie Brown, the loveable loser, a child possessed of endless determination and hope, but who's ultimately dominated by his insecurities and a permanent case of bad luck, and often taken advantage of by his peers.

Good Old Charlie Brown is nearly always referred to or addressed by his full name, except by Peppermint Patti who calls him "Chuck", Marcie who usually uses "Charles", and Snoopy who irreverently uses "the round-headed kid".

Charlie Brown was one of the original cast members of Charles Schulz's "Peanuts" strip when it debuted in 1950. During its 50+ year run it also morphed into an award-winning play ("You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown") and several animated features, such as "A Charlie Brown Christmas".

Charlie Brown's victories were very few (yes, he had a couple) and his "defeats" many, though he stubbornly refused to give in or give up: the ever-hungry "kite-eating tree"; the elusive football kick; the never received Valentine's card; the no-show Great Pumpkin; rocks for treats when "trick or treating"; standing all alone on the pitcher's mound, refusing to let a torrential downpour interrupt his beloved baseball game; and, of course, the Little Red-Haired Girl that wasn't meant to be!
