Geocache Description:

As we scoured the map for fun locations to place a short series, we noticed that a there were several smaller parks in Burbank with no caches and a few larger parks that could fit an additional cache. Let's give a bit of love to these hidden - and not so hidden - Burbank gems.

This cache is in Maxam Park. The park has a little league field, a tennis court, a full court basketball court, a play area for the little ones, and some nice picnic areas. You're looking for a moderately camoed round Altoids container. Bring your own writing utensil.

Please don't try to find this cache if there is a game going on while you're there, since there's likely to be many muggle eyes then. Also, please make sure you replace the cache firmly so that it doesn't end up on the ground.

Note - This cache is also 1 of the 6 finds needed to get the coordinates for "Burbank Parks Dash - Verdugo" (GC1HGMR). If you want to find that cache, make a note of the hint provided in the header of the log sheet in this cache.

***Update - 4/22/10***
On 4/17/10, this park was renamed to honor Burbank's only Medal of Honor winner, USMC Cpl. Larry L. Maxam. The park's former name was Pacific Park. Since the park has changed names, we've changed the cache's name also. In conjunction with the renaming there is a new sign and memorial in the southeast corner of the park, just south of the cache. Here's a link to some more info about Cpl. Maxam (visit link)
