Sycamore crossing Traditional Cache

Parking is available at the river's edge by using the dirt road leading off Berkshire Valley Road by the open steel gate or use Berkshire's dirt road side shoulder. Varied terrain.
A challenging cache can be one remembered, hopefully this one fills that requirement. Parking near the river should place you about 200 ft from the cache location and finding the Decon container isn't the difficulty with this cache; it's getting over the river. Fisherman, hunters as well as occasional hikers use this unique "living bridge" to cross over and avoiding a long walk from bridges above and below this river point. Rain, snow, ice as well as high water in flood conditions will up the ratings; likewise the area around gz could be wet in highwater. This part of the Rockaway river is visited by trout fishermen especially in April and May at the beginning of the trout season and Monday nights after stocking commonly find them here. If your crossing doesn't go as planned as least a fisherman, if present, will enjoy the show. This is not your typical natural crossing, it's pretty neat. At least come check it out. Other crossings are available near by but are harder to negotiate and "stay dry" it's up to you.
