The Flash. The fastest man alive. He can run and move at super
speed, and can bend/break the laws of physics concerning time and
space.
The Flash, a
name that has been (and will be) held by many. In fact, it's a
legacy of heroes that extends well into the future. The Flash is
the last of the "Great Eight" of the Justice League.
This is some of those who
"ride the lightning":
- Barry
Allen, generally considered THE Flash.
- Jay
Garrick, considered the DC Universe's FIRST superpowered
hero.
- Wally West,
the third Flash, who was previously known as "Kid Flash".
- Bart Allen,
grandson of Barry Allen, but born 1000 years in the future. Better
known as Impulse, but for a while, held the name "The Flash". (He
was considered the fourth Flash)
I place this cache, and bring you here, for two reasons:
Reason #1. (If you're here during the right weekday hours)
Immediately to the north, you will see stairs leading to a garden
on the grounds of the Columbia
University Medical Center. There is a plaque which denotes
where home plate once was for Hilltop Park, the
location of the stadium which was once the home of the NY Yankees
(then known as "The Highlanders").
Reason #2. At the next corner North (at 168th Street) you should
see two runners on the side of The
Armory Track, home of the National Track & Field Hall of
Fame. A place that honors great runners. One can even go and learn
about becoming a great runner.
You are looking for a camo'ed cigar tube. Please be discrete when
searching as this area is usually full of muggles and under
surveillance. So please don't be TOO suspicious. Tying your shoe,
would give you an excellent reason for your attempt. Also... you
might actually need to tie your shoe.
Cache originally contains an FTF coin for the FTF, as well as some
swag, including: a badge (in recognition of Barry Allen's
profession), and a Black Lantern pin. Cache on! --- Congrats to
childofatom on the FTF! The hint TOTALLY gives away the exact
location, but I'd rather you find (and replace) it discretely, than
to have the cache go missing yet again. (This is actually the fifth
container placed in this location. Pray for the Flash. )
