Placed near what was once listed as the largest saguaro cactus
This cache is close to the remains of a cactus once listed as the largest saguaro (Carnegiea gigantea) in Arizona. Unfortunately, a 2005 fire inflicted fatal damage and the saguaro has fallen. You can pace it off to find how high this grand-daddy was.
The initial contests include a combination lock and a Glendale, AZ bottle opener.
The road from Bartlett Lake Road to Horseshoe Lake is mostly graded dirt and may or may not be suited for normal cars, especially after a monsoon rain. The cache is about a 50 m walk from the road. Watch for prickly plants and desert critters.
