Geocache Description:

Located off Twin Lakes Road, in Shohola, PA.

Shohola is a very historic area, with remnants of what used to be scattered throughout the woods. At one time, Shohola was packed with hotels, resorts, even an amusement park. The town was large and the population exceded what you see now of this tiny village. This is the first series I am doing in the area. There is way more to see and explore, so as I make new finds, I will be placing caches to give you all the opportunity to take a step through time.

There are 3 parts to "A Walk Through Shohola's Past". I recommend you do them all at the same time. It will give you the chance to see some pretty cool things, walk along a really awesome creek, and get 3 finds while you're out there.

You can either park near the new ballpark or next to the bridge that crosses Shohola Creek, both on Twin Lakes Road. I would start your journey by the bridge. The creek itself is quite a sight. There are no trails, but the area is pretty clear to walk through. It seems like at one point this could have been an old road. If you do all 3 caches in the series, the total distance to and from the bridge is about .6 miles. Enjoy the area and take your time. See if you can spot anything old and interesting. Bring your camera!

I am not going to give away any information about the specific spots I am sending you to. I would like you to use your imagination and try to figure out what these places could have been at one point. I am not trying to keep them a secret and neither should you. If you wish you post your opinion in your log, please do.

Have fun!
