Geocache Description:

This is a multi stage puzzle cache. The first stage is a camoflaged micro cache (a 35mm case) which contains the Co-Ordinates for the final cache. The terrain rating is set high for a reason, but it's generally quite level.The Co-Ordinates published are for the start point at Sutton Cheney Church. It is possible to walk the whole puzzle cache, and I would recommend it

The start point for this cache is the lovely Parish Church in the picturesque Leicestershire village of Sutton Cheney. The clues to the first puzzle are all found in or around the church. Sutton Cheney is well provided with refershment opportunities having two pubs the Royal Arms and The Hercules (which also serves great food)

The Sutton Cheney church's nave dates back to the 13th Century and the Chancel is slightly later. However the church is mostly known for it's links to Richard Pantageanet, Third King of England by that name, and the nearby battlefield of Bosworth

It is widely held that Richard attended mass at the church on the morning of August 22nd 1485 having spent the night in the vicinity, later that day Richard met his end "fighting manfully in the thickest press of his enemies" according to Tudor historian Polydore Vergil at the Battle of Bosworth, the only post-conquest King of England to die in battle (though Richard I died of wounds recieved at the siege of Chalus). This connection is celebrated in the church

In order to find the micro cache you will need to look around the church and find the following information

R = The second digit of Reverand Plants Phone Number
S = The 4th letter of the saints name to whom the church is dedicated converted into a numeric (eg if it was H the number is 8)
T = The fifth number at Jeans Tree
U = The day on which this Freeman of the City of London was born

W,X,Y,Z = the date of death of Sir William Roberts as displayed on the fine tomb inside the church

The Micro is hidden at

N52 3A BCD
W1 2E FGH

where

A = (R-3)
B = (S-5)
C = T
D = (U-8)

E = (W+2)
F = (6/X) + 5
G = (3 x Y)
H = (Z+2)

The church is open during the day until about tea time so this cache is only really available during daylight - and obviously some care is needed on Sundays

The cache contains a metal figure as a sort of FTF prize, and assorted bits and pieces some of them associated with the battle, I'll leave it to you to decide where my loyalties lie !!!

Congratulations to the 3 Stoned Monkees on the FTF
