This cache has been archived.

northwood: We are getting out of the cache owning business, so we are archiving this cache now. We do not geocache as much as we did and do not have the time to keep up proper maintenance.

So we will free up a few spots around Hamilton.

Geocache Description:

A micro cache at Waikato Hospital. Easy terrain and access, but not quite a drive by.

Hamilton's first hospital resulted from the stationing of the Fourth Waikato Militia in Hamilton in 1864. A military hospital was set up on land in Bridge Street which is now occupied by the Hamilton Central Police Station.

The current Waikato Hospital is on a large site off Pembroke Street. The hospital is the main campus for the Waikato District Health Board which employs more than 5500 people and provides hospital and health services to more than 355,000 people in a region covering eight per cent of New Zealand.

There is a major building program under way on the Waikato Hospital site. This cache is on one of the recently commissioned areas.

This can be a busy spot. The terrain is very easy. There is 15 minute parking close by. At most times, reasonable stealth will be required. Please be careful so as not to give away the cache. Replace it out of sight.

You will need your own pen or pencil.
