Geocache Description:


The posted coordinates are for PARKING at Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserve. To find the cache, solve the puzzle.

This is a demanding hike, but the views are spectacular. Bring plenty of water, and maybe a trekking pole or two.

Always exercise care for the environment.



There's really no way to adequately thank the Groundspeak Volunteer Cache Reviewers for all the time they volunteer to keep the game strong. Perhaps bringing cachers to a beautiful spot on our vast playground Mother Earth can be a start.

Although other reviewers occasionally review NorCal caches, the three reviewers I'm most familiar with are Hemlock, Krypton, and Nomex. I have previously placed an unknown cache to honor each one of them:
Hemlockiana
Krypton Court
Nomex's Cache

At the top of the logbook of each cache, there is a different three-digit number. For simplicity, call these numbers Hemlock, Krypton, and Nomex. (No, Hemlock is NOT 666!) After a great hike, you can find the final of this puzzle at N 38° A.B W 122° C.D, where:

A is a two-digit number equal to Sum of Hemlock's digits + 14
B is a three-digit number equal to Krypton + Nomex - 1000
C is a one-digit number equal to Nomex's last digit (in the ones place), and
D is a three-digit number equal to Hemlock + Krypton + 9 - 1000

The trailhead is just to the south of the posted coordinates, across Highway 128. USE CAUTION crossing the street. The ridge trailhead is at N 38° 30.549 W 122° 05.881.
