An easy find at the "posted" coordinates.
Anyone who enjoys birding knows that Amherst island is a real trophy for viewing the sights of birds off their normal migratory flights and a regular abundance of birds who nest and enjoy this relatively undisturbed area.
On this island the favourite of all and the real charmer to many birders and day tourists is the LADY OF THE FOREST... the SAWHET.
The cache is easily visible to a geocacher and please feel free to rehide, or add some protective camo to the cache. It is a tennis sleeve with only room for some small items for trades. When I placed the hide there was a lot of snow and with the rains I am sure it will be more visible at this time.
We kayak along the shore where this hide is found and I encourage anyone who has a kayak to paddle for this cache on a nice summer day. There is an easy launch from Fairfield park on the mainland and the paddle is an intermediate level one.Please use a kayak with a sprayskirt for any paddling on these open waters. Conditions can easily change from calm to high winds in a matter of hours.
