As you stand in front of the cache location the old Ben Catlin homestead was directly in front of you at the back corner of the field. Mr Catlin was a retired airline pilot for American Airlines, He retired to this area and started a Tung-nut farm. Some of the old tung-nut trees are still located in the woods beyond the field. When NASA purchased his land in the early 60's he moved somewhere in the polarville area and continued his Tung-nut business until the demand for the nut slacked off.
