Nickerson Point by Land or Sea Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cool Librarian: Sigh, well, that's what happens when someone posts a picture of the exact location of a cache - idiot kids go out and steal them. Too bad, this was a great spot and one of my better hides, and it's been there for years. I'm far away, so I guess I'll archive it. Maybe someone will replace it with a crappy micro.

Geocache Description:

This cache is a nice walk or an even nicer paddle!

This is a small-ish, traditional cache placed on Nickerson Point. For a nice, nearly two-mile round trip walk, park in WHAT USED TO BE the Dennis Town Hall lot and follow the wide trail all the way down to the old train bridge on the Bass River. Pick up the river-side trail to Nickerson Point - the cache is nearby. Continue on the shallow loop trail which will take you right back to the bridge.

For a 2 mile paddle (if you paddle to the bridge, 1.2 if you only paddle as far as the Point), put in at the public landing on High Bank Road. Easy access to shore in several spots.

Both the paddle and the walk are nice. The area near the train bridge is very cool, and I was wishing it was summer so that I could have taken a swim (though there is a good current here - better swimming is near the point).

This is a popular area for dog walkers and the cache is near the path, so please be stealthy if necessary. The clue is a spoiler - I don't want it to be a hard find, but I do want it kept hidden from passersby. Please uncover cache from the "top" rather than the "sides" and cover well when done.
