Geocache Description:

Located in Rockville Civic Center Park, next to the Rockville Nature Center. Nice trails.

Welcome to Rockville Civic Center Park. The Rockville Civic Center and the Rockville Mansion are the two landmarks on this property, but there are also two play areas for kids and 4 tennis courts. Hidden away behind the mansion is the Rockville Nature Center, with a great bird watching area and a puzzle/play room for young children. If you park in the Nature Center's parking lot, there is a hiking trail that leads down to a stream. The trail has some rolling hills but it is not a difficult hike. At your first fork in the trail, go left to head in the right direction for the cache. If you are in a rush, take the old access road down to the bridge. Either way, you're crossing the bridge or jumping stones to cross the creek. This cache is a small ammo box, plenty of room for whatever you want to put in there. I put some basic stuff in there. ** Congratulation to Durge and dad for the FTF** Please hide the cache back up when you leave, then continue on the trail, it makes a loop so enjoy your walk! This area is very interesting historically. Take a moment to look around. Obviously there used to be a paved road through here, and there are old car parts everywhere. Additionally, on the bridge is a really cool picture taking stand with instructions on how to log your photo for a project. I am so happy that this cache is now over 5 years old and has over 200 logged visits. The area, hiding place, and terrain are so friendly that this cache is consistently a favorite by visitors. Thank you cachers! Many people have noted in the logs what a nice, gentle walk this is. It is very kid friendly, especially since you can visit the Nature Center as well. I recently replaced this cache as it had been muggled and moved it. The new coordinates I took seem to be wrong, will the next person to find it please put in their "found it" notes the coordinates you got?
