Realm of the Caching Gnome (The Gnome's Cache) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

jgstef: I regret to say that the Gnome's cache (the final) and the Gnome are both missing. I will not attempt to replace since whoever took them knows the location. It had a good run and I put a lot of effort into this one. Not sure what one would do with a weathered lawn gnome and a lock and lock but I guess it gave them a thrill to take it. The 4 Gnome caches will be archived as a result.

Geocache Description:

These are not the coordinates to the cache. In order to get them you have to do the first three parts of the Realm of the Caching Gnome series. The cache is a larger container with lots of trade items and an FTF prize.

In the days of old a legend was told of a Caching Gnome who hid a cache near a great chasm. He divided the coordinates he took into six pieces, mixed them up and placed them in three hiding places. If you wish to accept the challenge, you must find the three hiding spots, record the coordinate pieces on a piece of paper, unscramble them and find the Gnome's cache. If you have been successful you have the coordinates in hand for this cache. Do not attempt it if you did not log the first three parts. And now I quote from Fried Chicken and Coffee since he said it so well:

Do not underestimate the potential dangers of this location! Should you decide to attempt this cache remember the following:

STAY AWAY FROM THE EDGE! - THERE IS A REAL POSSIBILITY OF FALLING TO YOUR DEATH - REMAIN ON THE ATV PATH AT ALL TIMES TO GET TO THE CACHE

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIND THIS CACHE AT NIGHT OR EVEN AT DUSK - GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF DAYLIGHT - ANYONE LOGGING THIS CACHE AS A NIGHT FIND WILL HAVE YOUR LOG DELETED

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIND THIS CACHE IN THE RAIN OR SNOW

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIND THIS CACHE BY YOURSELF - AT THE VERY LEAST MAKE SURE SOMEONE KNOWS WHERE YOU ARE - EVEN IF YOU HAVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE MARK A FEW POINTS ALONG YOUR PATH SO YOU CAN GET BACK OUT AGAIN SAFELY

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIND THIS CACHE WITH SMALL CHILDREN - THERE ARE A LOT OF DANGEROUS SPOTS HERE - THEY CAN BE AVOIDED BUT A CHILD MAY TEND TO WANDER

THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS - ATTEMPTING TO FIND ONE OR TAKE ONE CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH - THERE ARE A LOT OF SIDE PATHS AND TRAILS - BE WARY OF FOLLOWING THEM

USE COMMON SENSE AND PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS AT ALL TIMES - BY ATTEMPTING TO FIND THIS CACHE YOU ASSUME ALL RESPONSIBILITIES AND LIABILITIES FOR YOUR ACTIONS!

And you may meet the Gnome when you find GZ! I think the best approach is a descent point at N 40° 54
557' W 075 58.830" You are not descending into the chasm but rather a small patch of woods near it where I used to stop and drink water while mountain biking. Be Safe! Trade even and trade fair lest ye receive the curse of the Caching Gnome (4 DNF's for every Find from this point forward).

Congratulations to Fritzi_42 on FTF on all 4 of the Gnome caches! You have the Gnome's utmost respect!
