Hatteng Rast
Rasteplassen ligger mellom E8 og Storfjorden som er den innerste delen av Lyngenfjorden. Området rundt har et rikt fugleliv og er et attraktivt friluftsområde der blant annet Kittdalelva har sitt utløp i fjorden. Terrenget rundt er flatt og gressbevokst og en del bjørk er plantet for å gi le. På østsiden av E8 står furuskogen tett. Fra rasteplassen er det utsikt langt utover fjorden og til mektige fjell på alle kanter: Hatten, Mannfjell, Otertind, Buefjell og Njallavarre. Plassen er godt synlig for de veifarende enten en reiser nordover eller sydover. Rasteplassen med de fem rustikke byggningene er ment som en markering av Storfjord og Nord-Troms regionen. På vei nordover er det hær man for alvor møter Lyngenfjorden og samisk og kvensk bosetting og kultur. Dette er en flott plass å stoppe og den benyttes hyppig av både bobiler og andre veifarende sommer som vinter. Det er lagt opp til grillmuligheter etc.
The layby/rest stop is located between E8 and Storfjorden that is the inner part of the Lyngenfjord. The area around has a rich birdlife and it is a attractive area for outdoor life where for example the Kittdalsriver is going out in the fjord. The terrain around is flat and grassy with some birch planted for leeward. On the eastside of E8 the pine forrest is bushy. From the rest stop you can see far out the fjord and there are majestic mountains all around: Hatten, Mannfjell, Otertind, Buefjell and Njallavarre is some of them. The place is easy to spot wether you are going north or south. The rest stop with it`s 5 rustic buildings are ment as a mark of Storfjord and the North-Troms region. On the way north this place is where you really meet the Lyngenfjord and Sappmi and Kvensk settlement an culture. This is a great place for a stop and it is frequently used of motorhomes and other travelers bouth summer and winter. It`s possible to barbecue etc.
