McLennan Park, the former Region of Waterloo landfill on Ottawa Street in Kitchener, is an undeveloped 39 hectare (97 acre) open space parcel that has been the subject of numerous studies since 2000, to explore its potential as a multi-use recreational facility.This first phase (approximately 20 hectares) includes the construction of an entry road and parking area off Ottawa Street, the widening of Ottawa Street to provide a left turn lane, stormwater management, the re-grading of the toboggan hill, the construction of cycling facilities, the construction of park amenities (e.g., lookout) and landscaping.
From here you have a nice view over Kitchener. At the cache site you are 370m above sea level.
There are plans of a Lookout just a few steps away.
