Geocache Description:

Welcome to Planet Earth!

NOTE: CACHE is located at posted coordinates. This is a puzzle cache only because of the logging requirements.

This item has been turned from "?" into a beautiful sculpture by Greensboro artists Tony Forrest and Emmett Williams.  Owner Sidney Gray and his wife, Ricki, own the parking lot as well as the site of what they've dubbed "Planet Earth."

I don’t use the word “awesome” too often, but this cache item is truly awesome. It is an object that should be of special and significant interest to every geocacher. If this one doesn’t interest you, you might want to consider some other activity :)

To claim credit for this cache, you must include the following items in your online log. Of course, you must also find the cache container and sign the physical log as well.

1.     You need to attach a picture of you holding your GPS in front of the CACHE OBJECT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES.

2.     Post the exact coordinates that you get from your GPSr in your log. Use the "add a waypoint to log" button to post coordinates. (The owner of “Planet Earth” is trying to get an accurate coordinate reading so he can permanently integrate them on “PE.”)

3.     In addition, please post what type of GPS you are using to get those coordinates.

4.     Post the distance from your home address to "Planet Earth" in your log.

5.     Lastly, you MUST start your log with something like “Greetings from, country, state, province, or city. . . ” AND what you think this item might have been used for in its previous life. Be creative. No repeats are allowed.

Finding this cache may well be the highlight of your trip to the area. Of course, you should offer no hints about the cache, even encrypted, in your log, or on bulletin boards, or to your friends. . .

This cache was placed with full permission of “Planet Earth's” owner. Please replace the container exactly like you found it and be careful with it so as the container will not be lost in “Planet Earth” forever!

Happy Geocaching,

Night Ranger

Special thanks to Ghosthunter, Gettysburg , PA for the inspiration of this cache idea. Also, a special thank you to Sydney and Ricki Sheldon for their gracious gift to the City of Greensboro and all of us Geocachers!
