In White Theviery of a nations ownership, we noticed the Colo when Gov Phillip explored the Hawkesbury in 1789.
they named it the Second Branch theynoted teh "High Steep rocky moutains"
The Colo Valley was eventually explored by Messers Singleton, Parr and Howetrying to find a way North.
Some early grants were made B4 1830 and further grants were granted but not authorised till 1830 when an offical survey was" completed.
The McDougal family , free settlers from Scotland arrived in 1798 and are recorded as living on the Colo in 1818 where McDougals still live today.
