Geocache Description:

Obscure Songs I Like:
Oak, Pine, Norsemen

We aren't advertising this big store, so we won't mention the
actual title of the song about it. You can find the cache without entering the store.

The cache is not at the coordinates, although they are a starting point. Read the details below to solve the puzzle and find the cache.

Obscure Songs I Like: A series of caches dedicated to songs you probably haven't heard of, by obscure people. Usually the music is available for you to hear for free on the Internet. It's probably not actually necessary to have heard the song to find the cache, but it won't hurt. In some cases, the cache location reflects the song... in other cases, this is less so.

For this cache, the actual song title is not mentioned, because that would be advertising. You don't need to shop at the store to find the cache. You don't even need to get that close to the store, although you'll certainly see the big sign. You can hear Jonathan Coulton performing his obscure song at YouTube, or find lyrics and guitar tabs for the song at his website.

To find the cache you will have to find two poles, and do some simple math. Then you'll have the coordinates of a shiny micro final.

Step one: The listing coordinates should bring you to a pole. Note the "pole number" displayed high above you in large letters. You will need it shortly.

Step two: Take the first three letters of the store name, which you can see in large print to the west. convert each letter to a number, according to their place in the alphabet: A=1, B=2... Z=26. Now, compute the following formulae:
X = first letter
Y = second letter
Z = third letter
W = ((X + Z) * Y) - 9
V = (X * Y) + Z.
Now add W to the last digits of the original north coordinate, and add V to the last digits of the original west coordinate. This gives the coordinates for a second pole. Go to that pole, and again note the "pole number."

Step three: Now, convert your two pole numbers to numbers, by converting any letters according to the same A=1 conversion. Compute the following:
N = first pole number
M = second pole number
P = (2 * M) + N + 12
Q = M - N
Now, add P to the to the last digits of the original north coordinate (the coordinates at the top of the cache page, not those computed in step two), and add Q to the last digits of the original west coordinate. This gives the coordinates for the final cache. Seek and find.

All the steps can be completed from within a single large clear area. There is no reason to climb fences or enter buildings. The area can be very busy while the store is open... so use appropriate precautions to avoid the cache being discovered by those who might tamper with it.
