One of a series of cache n' dashes on the A9. Bring a pencil!
The A9 Trunk Road runs from Edinburgh to Thurso and is the main highway to the Highlands. This series of caches is located at various points along its length and parking for each will be very apparent. Please do not attempt to park anywhere else and under no circumstances should you stop on the carriageway. The general direction you need to be travelling in order to attempt a cache is mentioned in the cache title. If you need to turn around, please do so at one of the main junctions. The caches are not suitable for dogs and children should be kept under strict supervision. This part of the road is single carriageway so please be careful when entering and exiting the layby.
The laybys north of Perth are all numbered and this is number 16. You would think it would be an easy enough job to number them all, but no, mistakes were made. Two laybys have the same number and another layby doesn't even exist!
This cache is near to Murthly Castle which is a little further south on the road, down to your left. You can see the River Tay from here as it continues its journey to Perth, Dundee and finally into the North Sea.
