How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

A small, camoed drink container, hidden near one of our favourite watering holes in suburban Waterford. The trails can get muddy in spring. You might need snowshoes to access it in winter. Hence, the terrain rating of 2.

My three grandsons (aged 4,3 and 2 in 2009) are keen cachers (whose favourite caches contain cars), so it is only fitting to get them started on making some “kid friendly” GC’s. This one was designed by 4 year old Evan, who kindly donated some toy cars as trading items. It would be nice to stick to the theme, but not necessary. The most important thing is for kids to enjoy this cache, as well as the outdoors. This area is highly frequented by teenaged muggles in the summer, so extreme stealth is required. Please replace the container carefully and cover it with leaves, in order to keep it hidden. Please note: The sign at the trailhead says that the park is open dawn to dusk only. Enjoy the scenery and wildlife. 2021 update: Evan is now 16 and sometimes still likes caching, although he prefers to play video games with his cousin William (aka rileyscrew). He is also learning to drive. All 3 grandsons are taller than me. Four other grandkids have been added to the tribe since this cache was first published. Time flies when you're having fun!
