Geocache Description:

Another in the

Texas Spirit Quest

Cache Series

The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches
placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic
sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer
ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across
Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache
pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries,
tombstones and local lore.

The Old Snyder cemetery has been closed to new graves since 1902. There are only 14 identified graves here as most have been moved to other locations. Rumor says that the first person buried here was a Native American. Please park at the back entrance of the cemetery. This could be a handicap accessible cache if you are careful. Please bring your own pencil. Muggels are everywhere. Please be careful.
