Geocache Description:

This is our first cache placement. Located near the most southernly white mangroves (Avicennia marina) in Australia. Mangroves occur in the intertidal zones of estuarine areas. The white or grey mangrove are distributed along the east coast of Africa, Southwest Asia, throughout south and south-east Asia, and into Australia. In Australia, they extend much farther south than any other mangrove, occurring in every mainland State. Be sure to have a look at the boardwalk that meanders through the grove. The site also commemorates the wreck of the Laughing Wave, a wooden brig built in Fremantle in 1868.
