The first five minutes are the worst, the terrain is pretty easy after the initial shock
Ancient Foxley Woods were probably about 200 acres but today the 19 acres of Foxley Wood, is all that remains. The woods are owned and managed by the London Borough of Croydon preserving this lovely stretch of old woodland in the green belt scheme now designated as a conservation area. The Friends of Foxley volunteer group works in partnership with the London Borough of Croydon to maintain, enhance and manage Foxley Wood for the benefit of local residents and visitors. This series through Foxley Woods and beyond is a wonderful way to appreciate the woods and appreciate all the effort Friends of Foxley put into this area. They are keen to promote CITO geocaching in their woods and it would be great if you could remember to take a bag to collect litter whilst caching in this area For younger cachers - look out for the crocodile in the woods and remember there is a newly constructed children's playground in the adjoining Purley Recreation Field.
