In The Cleft Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

gbmcache: I visited the cache and again found the container missing. The area is just too much the playground for young muggles. A gracious Thank You to all 123 visitors who searched among the boulders to find (115) and DNF (8) the cache over the past five and one half years.

Geocache Description:

The cache is small lock and lock container placed on private property with permission. The site, before it became a church, was occupied for many years by the Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks, or as it was conveniently known, the Elks Lodge.

When you exit your vehicle please do not approach directly, but rather begin your search by entering the woods just to your left. There is a trail of sorts that will take you near the cache. It is probably not a good idea to search for the cache on a Sunday morning.

There is an old Eddy Arnold tune, "He Hideth My soul." which contains a line, "He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock." If you have not figured it already it is for this song, and the Biblical references from which the inspiration came, for which the cache is named. There are several hymns and gospel tunes that call on same theme.

Congratulations to gypc for being the first to find on 3-8-09.
