Mr. Penguin enjoys geocaching. You may have caught sight of him while browsing photographs uploaded to other cache sites. Now, he has his very own cache.
Mr. Penguin took a geocaching break at the Rudolph and Arthur Covered Bridge. This bridge was built by Menander Wood & Richard T. Meredith in 1880. It is located on Twp. Rte 307, north of Pa-Md state line and is a typical Chester County bridge in southern Chester County. A large dam above the bridge site supplied power for a local paper mill between 1850 and 1909. When this 80 ft. long bridge was built across Big Elk Creek in 1880, Charles Arthur was a member of the paper firm of Rudolph and Arthur. Three generations of the Rudolph family were also active in operating the paper mill.
You are looking for a recycled white aspirin jar. No need to enter private property as cache is on the bridge. Please be careful retrieving and replacing so that it doesn't end up "in the drink." This cache was placed on a record-breaking warm March day so Mr. Penguin left a small FTF prize that will cool you off.
Congratulations to jenniferQp for FTF!
