We found this spot a few months ago while caching in the area and
wanted to get back here to place a cache. The view is incredible!
You are above the Table Rocks at an elevation of 3728', and can see
the entire northern Rogue Valley. Unfortunately, the day we placed
the cache it was overcast, so the photo does not do it justice.
There are two ways to access this cache. One is to go from
Jacksonville Reservoir Road through the
Motorcycle Riders Assn (MRA)
area which is pretty busy on the weekends and a fairly rough road
which is best done in a high clearance vehicle. The other way is to
go up Kane Creek Road off of Old Stage Road in Central
Point. This is a little better road and has less motorcycle
traffic. Both ways are very interesting and there are other
geocaches you can look for both ways. We also found this great
BLM map of the roads in
the area. Do not trust the geocaching.com map as many of the
roads shown are blocked by gates or are for off road use
only.
The cache site is a favorite viewpoint for the motorcyclists
too, so you may have to wait until the area is clear to access the
cache which is off the side of the bank a few yards on the left. It
is a large camoed jar with various trade items and a log.
