Geocache Description:

You are looking for an ammo can located in
the forest on Starr Mountain.

You will need to bring your own pen, and a notebook if you intend to jot down the clues to get to the bonus cache.

We are starting a new series of Harry Potter geocaches, The Harry Potter Horcrux Series. According to J.K. Rowlings a horcrux is a "receptacle in which a Dark wizard has hidden a part of his soul for the purposes of attaining immortality." In the final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry, Ron and Hermione hunt for the horcruxes that Lord Voldemort created to house the shattered pieces of his soul. You get to have more fun than they did and hunt ammo cans in the woods.

There are 7 horcrux caches in this series, and a final cache that can only be found from clues collected from each of the 7 horcrux caches. In each horcrux cache there is a piece of paper with a question. Each question can be answered from a Harry Potter book or movie. Each answer will be a number. In each cache there are slips of paper written out with blanks for a gps coordinate. Grab a piece of the paper from one of the caches and start entering the coords.

You can most certainly enjoy any or all of the caches without attempting the final cache. You can hunt just the ones you want if you're not interested in finding the last bonus cache, the Death of Voldemort. If you aren't a Harry Potter fan or don't know one, you can always find the answers on the internet.

Each cache we placed is a regular sized cache, an ammo can filled with child friendly toys and items. The final cache is a 5 gallon camo covered bucket filled with an ecclectic assortment of items. Most aren't your typical swag, some is.

The caches are very family friendly. You don't have to scale cliffs or put yourself in mortal danger to find them. Most can be located on leisurely strolls down the long forgotten roads peppering Starr Mountain.

We placed all but the bonus cache in a two day marthon on the mountain. Hunting good places for 7 caches takes a while. But we're pretty sure you could do them all in the same day.

The horcruxes are:

Marvolo Gaunt's Ring

Tom Riddle's Diary

Helga Hufflepuff's Cup

Salazar Slytherin's Locket

Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem

Harry Potter

Nagini

Please do not remove the prop items from the caches (the ring, cup, diadem(tiara), etc).

This cache is Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem (tiara). As that was a bit too big to fit into the cache, we got one from Walmart instead to represent it.

Hope y'all enjoy this series of caches!
