Geocache Description:

A meet and greet meeting in Glendive.
Friday, April 3rd at C.C.'s family restaurant.
6:30 we meet and order food for those that want to eat, meeting gets kicked off around 7:15
For those not familiar with the restaurant, when you enter the building, to the right you will see a smaller room, thats where we will be.

This meeting is for all geocachers, new and broken in, young and old, anybody. Come swap cache stories, show off swag, get help and hints on caches, and have a good time!

Part of this meeting will be discussing some key issues toward our coin event, I will list them here so that everyone can bring their good ideas.

1. We need an official group name. Ideas will be discussed and a vote will be taken at the meeting.

2. We need to decide how our coin event will unfold. We will need to sign people up to place temporary caches around town when the event draws near. More discussion is needed to fine tune our ideas.

3. NEW INFORMATON* Geocaching.com has changed the rule of a 250 coin requirement to get a custom icon for your coin. What is a custom icon you ask? When you view trackable coins on the website, some coins will have their own special icon that appears when you view the coin information. If you look at the makoshika state park coin that was given out last year, you will notice the icon is a simple brown looking coin with a c on it if i remember right. This is a generic icon for any coin that does not have a custom icon. So the good news is our coin would now qualify for a custom icon. The bad news, its an extra $150.00 to get this icon. We can discuss this at the meeting, but I for one think it is a waste money.

4. Just a quick note to all that the $150 trackable code fee has been paid in full by all you and your awesome contributions! Thank you everyone that donated.

5. More great news, the coins are now in the process of being made!!! The artwork was approved by the chamber and the art negotiations have been finished with the coin maker. I will post the picture so you all can see!

I will add more as I think about it, but here is some information for you all to think about ahead of time. I spoke with the park ranger at Makoshika, and this year is the 20th anniversary of Buzzard Days. The ranger said if we wanted a free booth, we could set up for the whole day. Food will already be up there from other vendors. He thought maybe having guided geocaching tours for the day would be a great idea, and I agree. There are already some caches in the park that we could take people up to find. I think this would be a very great way of getting the coin event started.

Also, I got permission to place the earth cache in the park, I will be placing it at the fossil site on the Diane Gabrial Trail. So please, no one place a cache here until I get this up. This earth cache will be a crucial part of the event.

Thats all for now, I will post more as I think of it, see you all at the meeting.
