While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

When repairs to this cache are completed, and it is time to have it listed once again it will be no problem as long as it still meets the guidelines. Just drop me a note( by email at Mongo@geocachingadmin.com) and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link of your cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Mongo

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in historic Arrow Rock, Missouri. Thanks goes to park manager Mike Dickey for granting permission to place this cache. It is a camo’d Tupperware container with a log and pencil. There are a few trade items as well. My apologies but this cache is not wheelchair friendly. I have increased the difficulty rating to a 2.5 due to several comments about G P S units bouncing pretty bad.

After crossing the Missouri River, pioneers traveling west on the Santa Fe Trail used the spring near this cache to replenish their fresh water supply and water their horses. The spring still flows although the top of the spring has been covered for safety reasons. While at Arrow Rock you might want to take a stroll along the boardwalk or visit the old jailhouse. You can also tour many of the historic sites while in the area. I would also recommend a stop at the visitor’s center at coordinates N 39 04.077 W 092 56.769. Arrow Rock is truly a step back in time.

Congrats to * SPECTER * on the FTF
