The cache container is on the large side of “small” and can take a number of small swaps. Besides these it has a First Find Trophy.
Cache is accessed from the Ravenshoe - Tully Falls road. The Track leaves the road at S17º 41.083’ E 145º 31.370’ and returns to the road at S 17º 41.952’ E 145º 31.395’
You can take either one. If you are going to just do a dash to the cache and back then take the first one. If you are going to do the circuit (recommended) start at the second one. Then you will walk up hill to the cache area while you are fresh and have lots to see. When you reach the road you will then have a long down hill stroll with a lovely swimming hole at the end of your walk.
At the junction of the walking track and a by track down to the falls, there is a shed which is great for a spell and an opportunity to de-leech if you go in damp conditions.
As always in rain forest, strong walking shoes are a necessity, and protective clothing is highly recommended. In this case there is a sharp leafed shrub/grass growing in places each side of the track that could scratch childrens' arms if they are not protected.
The cache site is in a steep sided valley with heavy rain forest canopy so GPS reception is iffy. I suggest you let your GPS pick up the satellites at the car park, and track them in. Fresh batteries would be a good idea. I also suggest you use the hint as I could get accuracy only to 6 metres when hiding it.
