A Tiny Often Empty Park in the heart of the action. Located near L'Enfant Plaza, this park has all the makings of a park right down to a sign, but is just big enough for the sign, two trees, and a few small bushes. The hustle and bustle around the park is typical of your big city, but very few ever seem to notice this tiny often empty park.
With the sidewalks surrounding it, this park is approximately 50 feet wide, 100 feet long, and bisected by Virginia Ave SW at the intersection of 6th St SW and D St SW. Take away the sidewalks and we're talking maybe 25 feet by 50 feet, bisected.
This cache is part of the "Tiny Often Empty Park Tour". Note the cache that started it all. It's called "Tiny Often Empty Park (#1): North Brunswick, NJ" (GCR1V3) (now archived) and see the latest Tiny Park count and find out how you can add your own "Tiny Often Empty Park" to the tour.
Parking: Outside of working hours including weekends and most federal holidays, parking will be easy and within feet of the cache along Virginia Ave SW or other neighborhood streets. Otherwise it'll be a long and difficult hunt.
Metro: Metro is a great option, L'Enfant Plaza is the closest station, and the D St & 7th St SW exit is the closest station entrance half a block away. That exit is usually closed on the weekends so you'll need to pick one of the other exits which are about equidistant, but the Maryland Ave and 7th St SW entrance is less confusing. Many Metrobus routes come by this area too.
Cache Container: Fake rock on the NE side of the Western most tree in the park, near the benches.
