Geocache Description:

This is an independant puzzle for my bowling series. The cache is not at the published coordinates. They were just used because they fit into the puzzle.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am passionate about scouting and love geocaching. The other long time activity that I enjoy is BOWLING! I kind of grew up with bowling ‘in my blood’ so to speak. When my Dad was a young adult, he worked as a “pin-boy” at a small bowling alley in South Bound Brook. Essentially he set-up the pins every frame for the bowlers. I started bowling in a youth program that my Mom ran for many, many years. Bowling still keeps me in contact with some of my friends from my youth. Bowling is a great family activity whether it’s for one day or in a league. Actually one of my sons birthday parties when he was 8 or 9 was bowling. This is why these caches honor this mis-understood sport!
To solve this puzzle, you will need to learn some basic terminology and know how to keep score for one game of regular 10-pin bowling. You will need to figure out my highest score ever. My game consisted of 2 strikes, then a 9-spare, then a ‘5 bagger’, another 9-spare and a turkey to finish the game. You need to add this score to the north coordinates on the cache page.
You will need to know the score of a perfect game and add this to the west coordinates on the cache page.
The cache is located in Hoffman Park. Be advised that deer hunting is allowed in the fall, so wear appropriate clothing.
