It was fun while it lasted, but these caches are being muggled far too often. The concept of Wood, Gate, Valley, Country and Park was nice, but rather limited my choice of potential hiding places.

Thanks to all who have visited, but it's time to open up the park for anyone who wants to place new ones in, hopefully, better locations.

Geocache Description:

One of a series of caches forming a circular walk of approximately 3 miles around Woodgate Valley Country Park. The walk can be reduced to around 1.5 miles by omitting "gate" which can be done separately as a cache and dash from West Boulevard, however, please take extreme care if doing the latter, as the road is a busy dual carriageway.

The park comprises 450 acres of many different habitats. There are many mixed, mature hedgerows, species rich meadows, woodland, small ponds and the Bourn brook running through its heart. Originally a mosaic of farms and smallholdings the park has retained much of its rural character. While you are here, why not visit the urban farm.

Recommended parking is at N52° 26.684 W002° 00.573. Gates close at 4.30pm in winter, 7pm in summer. At other times, the caches can be accessed from any one of a number of side streets.

All caches are on, or near to paths, however there is a wide variety of terrain, and the area does get VERY muddy at times. GPS signals may not be particularly accurate, but using your caching skills, these shouldn't be too difficult.

The first cache is in a small wooded area of the park. The original cache was by some wooden steps but was muggled before it even went live, so the location has moved slightly.

You are looking for a small circular plastic container, capable of holding small swaps or geocoins. Please rehide as well or better than you found it.
