The cache has been reincarnated as a micro cache. The new cache is located in exactly the same spot as the original. Even though it was muggled before, I'm fairly confident it will be safe this time. I've left the original description below so you can read about why this cache exists. Please take some time to write stories and leave some advice for the young scouts that are the real owners of this cache.
You are looking for a silver medication key chain (about the size of a bison tube) that is COMPLETELY CONSEALED. This is the reason the difficulty has been increased. This cache is under a boulder and you will need to move exactly one small rock to find the tube.
Please replace the cache exactly as found so that it remains completely consealed.
Please beware of muggles in the area.
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION
This cached has been placed the Gryphons Webelos Den from Cub Scout Pack 392 in Sykesville, MD as their final Cub Scout activity before bridging to Boy Scouts. The boys have filled the cache with scout items including patches, a wind up flashlight, a Leave No Trace placard, and a Travel Bug. Several patches could only be obtained by attenting an event.
The Cache is a 6"x6"x2" Lock n' Lock, located off of the McKeldin Rapids Trail. There is limited room for items and you will need to bring your own writing stick.
For the next few years, the boys that placed this cache will have a reunion to see how the cache has changed and to read the logs. When you log your visit on the web, please leave stories or advice to the young scouts, if you have any. We would especially like to hear from current or former scouts and scouters.
Please use care when visiting this cache. It is just off of a very active trail.
Also, take the time to find the other caches in the park.
Update on the scouts that placed this cache
5 of the 6 scouts that placed this cache moved on to Boy Scouts. All 5 are still active. 2 have reached the rank of Life Scout and 3 have reached the rank of Star Scout. All are still committed to working towards Eagle Scout. I am Immensely proud of all of them.
