Geocache Description:

THIS CACHE IS AT THE POSTED COORDINATES.

HOWEVER, YOU FIRST MUST QUALIFY TO LOG IT AS "FOUND." LOGS THAT DO NOT QUALIFY WILL BE DELETED!

As a tribute to those who hide "Series" caches, this is a Utah Baker’s Dozen “Series” Challenge. Therefore, the challenge is to find, (or have already found) one cache from thirteen DIFFERENT numbered Series. You must find one cache each from #1 through #13 from different Series caches. Please read ALL of the requirements as follows:

1) Many cachers have Series caches that are not numbered – these DO NOT count. In order to count as a “Find” for this challenge, it must be from a numbered Series.

2) Series caches with numbers in the name, “Provo History 112”, do not count. This does not count as a #2 or a #12; it is a 112. Also, the cache “ted (balkamper13)”, while having a “13” in the name is not a Series cache, and therefore, doesn’t count. I think you get it.

3) You may only use one #1, one #2, one #3,… and one #13.

4) You may only use one cache per Series – Your “Found” caches must each be from a different Series. In this case, I think variety is a good thing.

5) You may only use one find from any single cacher. Some cachers have hidden multiple cache Series (Thank you all, by the way). If you’ve found caches from more than one Series, each from the same cacher – choose only one to log. Again, variety is a good thing.

6) Series caches using Roman numerals can be used. Also, series caches with numbers 01, 02, 03, etc. DO count.

7) The first cache in the Series must have a #1 (or 01, or I) included in the cache name. If the first cache in the Series does not have a #1 in the title – that specific cache DOES NOT count. However, all other caches with numbers in that Series DO count.

8) The thirteen cache finds need not be within the State of Utah. *(Edited 11-3-10)*

9) In order to make this challenge even more “fun”, and sticking with the concept of variety, out of the 13 Series Caches that you find:
At least two caches must be Multi (Offset) caches
At least two caches must be Virtual caches
At least two caches must be Mystery/Puzzle caches
At least one cache must be a Letterbox Hybrid cache

1/21/10 Update: Recently, treponema's "SLC Degrees of Confluence" cache series has been converted from Mystery/Puzzle caches to Traditional caches. In the interest of fairness: If you found a cache in this series before 1/1/10, you can count it as a Mystery/Puzzle cache for this challenge. If you found it after this date, count it as a Traditional cache.

10) Some cache Series include multiple cache types – these DO count. However, in a case where, for example, the Series has both Traditional and Multi-caches, and you’ve found both, you can choose either one – not both (see requirements 4 & 5). This still counts as a single Series for the purposes of this challenge.

11) You must list all thirteen of your Series “Finds” in your log on this cache page to qualify this cache as a "Find". You must include the GC####, the Name of the cache, the Type of cache, and the cache owner, as follows:

GC4EE1 - "Schoolhouse" Southern Utah Pioneers #1 - Virtual - Top Sleuth
GC1FWW8 - B.A.C. - The Crossing #2 - Traditional - WB Taylor
GCGTCE - Return of the Dark Star #3 - Multi - MOCKBA
GC12ZMY - Salmonella enterica #4 - Traditional - Treponema
GC1F58M - The Butterfly Letterbox Hybrid #5 - Letterbox Hybrid - Momma Owl
GCJ237 - DUP Fountain Green #6 - Virtual - KRYPTONITERACERS
GC1DHHQ - Seven Deadly Caches – Greed #7 - Traditional - lyonden_ut
GC13D9J - Peak-A-Boo Mount Nebo #8 - Mystery - CaverSpencer
GC16K07 - B.E.R.R. – Bountiful #9 - Traditional - California Zephyr
GC1572X - The Killer Rabbit #10 - Traditional - Biodude
GCV5J5 - The GPS Classroom – Office Hours #11 - Multi - ruaniteit
GC17FWN - Park n Cache--South Weber #12 - Traditional - PeanutsParents
GC1FBB5 - D. O. A. - Rich County #13 - Mystery - AD0OR

12/28/09 Update: Added cache owner to logging requirements. Some of you are already doing that, which does make it easier to check - thanks!

12) While many of these caches in the logging example above are indeed Series caches, NONE of these caches would actually qualify as a “Find” for this challenge. For this logging example I simply added the #1, #2, etc., to help show what is expected to log this cache; you, on the other hand, cannot merely add #s to cache names. I didn’t want to use actual numbered Series caches in the example, mistakenly implying that you would have to find these specific caches in order to log. Furthermore, I did not want to create a bias toward any specific Series, at the exclusion of others. Besides, part of the fun is figuring that out on your own, right?

13) A special thanks to all those who hide “Series Caches”!!! As a bonus for those of you who do – and you know who you are – hiders count as finders. However, if this applies to you, please re-read requirement #5.

I can hear GSAK crankin’ already!

Congrats to The Simpsons on FTF

Shout out of Appreciation to Mzblubrd & 39Geezer for placing Letterbox Hybrid Series in Salt Lake Co.
