talk2azs: Thanks to all that have hunted this cache. After some thinking, I have decided to put this one to rest due to not wanting to archive my other cache near the new visitor's center. Maybe one day, I will create and hide a new cache at the new location.

Geocache Description:

This cache was placed with enthusiastic permission by Jeffrey L. Mills, Dekalb CVB.

The cache is located inside the Stone Mountain Village Visitors Center. Parking can be found with in 100 feet of the facility. And the cache is wheel chair accessible! The cache container can be considered a safe haven large enough to hold many trade items including travel bugs. The cache is available between the following hours.

Sunday and Monday CLOSED
Tuesday - Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm
Closed on Holidays

THERE IS A SIGN ON THE DOOR SAYING THEY ARE IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING TO THE NEW LOCATION. BUT THE DATE OF MAY 15 DID NOT HAPPEN. THE MOVE DATE IS STILL UNKNOWN. I WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LOCATION.

The employees of the Visitor Center are volunteers and are all wonderful people. On occasion, the Visitor Center may not open promptly at opening times due to illness or some other emergency. If you wish, you may call the visitor to make sure someone is at the facility before you head out to hunt the cache. Their phone number is (770) 879-4971.

The Visitors Center is a remodeled vintage 1915 wooden caboose that received a new exterior paint job in late 2008. After finding and logging the cache, have a look around the center where you can also find out a little bit more about the history of the caboose and Stone Mountain Village.

And please don't forget to sign the visitors log book located at the main desk of the facility as well.
