This cache was placed to
celebrate the capture of fugitive TB11XJX by the
BOGART (Barely Organized Geocacher And Rambunctious Terrestrial)
Team.
The Hunt
The hunt started back in 2006 when the Mutant was first spotted in the Westford area.
It was a slippery critter despite its fur. Many a times I arrived
at a location where it had been, only to find it had slipped past
in the bag or pocket of another geocacher. And sometimes I think it
was toying with me by going to caches not long after I had been
there.
In January I thought I would have him for sure when Every Mutant Has His Day was released. I
thought for sure the Mutant would make an appearance. I was there
that morning but there was no trace of him. Turned out the Mutant
was just up the road at another cache.
Finally we decided to go all out and take the Mutant at any cost.
After around-the-clock surveillance of several known hangouts, we
got a hot tip about the Mutant's location. Bogart the Bloodhound
and I loaded up the gear in the Mutant Urban Tactical Assault
Noninvasive Transport (MUTANT) vehicle and headed out to try to
capture the Mutant.
The Capture
The tipster told us the Mutant was spoted at Other Side of the River Cache. As we approached
the area we found quick parking at N42° 39.315 W71 15.300 for the
MUTANT vehicle. We grabbed our GARMIN (Ground Assault
Retractable Mutant-Inside Notifyer) units and headed out to
find the Mutant. When we approached the suspected area we grabbed
our PENS (Potential Enemy Neutralizer/Snatcher) so we could
quickly SIGN (Seek-Identify-Grab-Neutralize) the CACHE
(Currently Autonomous Chased/Hunted Evader) LOG (Laughing Over
Geocaching) before the Mutant knew what hit him.
The Celebration
To celebrate the end of the hunt we have placed a quick cache not
far from where we parked the MUTANT vehicle. Just as the Mutant is
hard to spot because of camouflage, so might this cache be so look
carefully.
Good luck and good geocaching,
Loch Cache the Hunter and Bogart the Bloodhound,
Team BOGART (Barely Organized Geocacher And Rambunctious
Terrestrial)
