Great DR by d3d Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

deb3day: The hiding spot has eroded to the point that it no longer holds the container. In addition, the tree under which this was hiding has had graffiti painted on it which makes me think the hiding spot has been compromised. It's gone missing twice now so I think it's time to say goodbye. Thank you to all who found this one. It's had a good run but now it must be archived.

Geocache Description:

Small screw top container, big enough for geocoins and small trackables. Cache is on a dirt road that you'd never know was there. I am placing this in honor of my 300th find, which I reached on 3/14/09. This cache is several yards away from my 4th find ever, on my first day of caching.

On my first day of caching, the 4th cache that I found was on this road. It has since been archived. But I think this is a Great road that I would never have known about if it weren't for that cache. So I'm putting one here, not too far from that spot. This is a screw top container. Please be sure that it is tightly placed back into the hiding spot so that it does not fall out. Place it into its spot top first to make it harder to see.

SPIDER ALERT (haven't seen him lately, so maybe he's moved on):
Please see the picture posted by gohangasalami. This is the guardian of the cache. Retrieve this cache at your own risk, since the spider seems to have taken up residence there.

This is a very narrow road, but you can pull off to the side near the cache. (NOTE: As of my visit on 06/17/09, the road has been graded and is plenty wide to pull off to the side so that you don't block the road while searching) You do NOT have to climb to get this cache. You should be standing on the same level as your car. The only reason I have this as a 1.5 terrain is because it is not wheelchair accessible. Please be sure to replace cache as found.

This cache is available 24/7 but if you go at night you will have to contend with dogs barking. There is a house way up on the hill, not all that close, but the dogs are observant. When I was placing the cache it was dark and the dogs were barking like crazy. This will probably not be a problem when the trees have leaves.
