Geocache Description:

Easy parking at N39° 05.634 W122° 29.300.

This spot is near the Cold Spring Mountain peak will offer two vistas with one overlooking Indian Valley Reservoir and the other looking over Bear Valley.

The reservoir now covers what was once a favorite hunting and camping area of the Patwin tribe. Although located in Lake county the water belongs to Yolo county. You will be standing over 3500 feet high and you’ll have a nice view of Mount Konocti way on the other side of the reservoir.

Across the road you will be viewing Bear Valley and all the cattle which graze there. Far in the horizon on a clear day you can make out the Sutter Buttes. The highest peak is 2130 feet and these are known as the world's smallest mountain range.

The Barrlett Springs road to the cache site is dirt and gravel and can be real rough. I would recommend going when things are dry. I’ve travel this road in a PT Cruser and also a small pickup truck. They both made it perfectly ok but the washtub road can rattle your teeth a bit. That is the reason for the 2.5 terrain. Once at parking the terrain is a 1.5 with just a short walk up a hill.

Enjoy the sights and don’t forget your camera.

SmokeysRedheadHelper made off with the FTF prizes. That's what happens when you get there first.
