This type of puzzle was first introduced to me a while back. I was so fascinated by the puzzle that I knew that I had to create a similar one here in Corvallis.
To determine the real cache coordinates, you will need to have a conversation with an online robot, named ShadowTiger. ShadowTiger really enjoys talking with other geocachers, so if you're not careful, you may find youself spending way more time talking with her, than you do searching for the cache!
ShadowTiger has a vast vocabulary, and every attempt has been made to teach her to intelligently respond to a broad set of questions. If you find that over the course of the conversation you are not making any headway in learning the real cache coordinates, try asking different questions or try asking your question in a slightly different form.
To avoid ruining the fun experience for other members of the caching community, please do not share secrets about how you managed to get ShadowTiger to cough up the real cache coordinates! If you are stuck, feel free to email me and I will happily give you a nudge, without giving the whole thing away!
Some of you will find that you can quickly get the real cache coordinates revealed to you, while others may find the experience to be difficult, time-consuming and just downright frustrating! Don't give up, though.
At times, the site hosting the ShadowTiger robot goes down; don't worry, however, it seems to quickly come back online, so just wait a few seconds and then refresh your browser window.

Once you think that you have the final cache coordinates, you are greatly encouraged to verify the coordinates, before heading out to find the cache! On occasion, ShadowTiger has been known to give out bogus cache coordinates
, so be careful!

Here are some guidelines, which may help you during your conversation with ShadowTiger:
- Punctuation is not important, so don't worry if you don't use any
- Don't use word contractions, such as "I'd" ; instead, use the uncontracted form, such as "I would"
- Word capitalization is not important
- You do not need to use ShadowTiger's name in your queries
- ShadowTiger keeps a log of all her conversations. If, during your conversation, you identify yourself (using your geocaching name), I will email you with a nudge if I feel that you have asked the correct question, but not necessarily in a form which ShadowTiger recognized.
- Reading the logs of your conversations with ShadowTiger have really been a hoot! Several of you are so close to getting ShadowTiger to cough up the cache coordinates! HINT: you don't need to mention the cache name or the cache ID.
- I'll repeat what I said in the cache description: if you find that your questions are not producing the desired results, then try asking the question differently ... order the words differently or try using slightly different words.
- If your conversation is getting nowhere, try a different line of questioning
3/27/2009 Update: Based on the questions I've seen in the logs, some of you have asked the right question, but not in a form which ShadowTiger was trained to recognize. I've updated ShadowTiger's vocabulary, so that she will now recognize more ways in which people might ask for the cache coordinates ... good luck!.
4/2/2009 Update: ShadowTiger has been programmed to reveal the real cache coordinates only after you have followed a specific sequence of questions and answers. If you don't follow the expected sequence, then you will quickly see that the conversation vectors off in a non-productive direction. If you see this happening, then try to retrace your steps, so that you are back into a productive conversation.
7/13/2010 Update: due to problems with paper wasps near the hiding place, the cache has moved approximately 50 feet! ShadowTiger is aware of the change, and now will provide you with the updated coordinates. HOWEVER ... if you solved the puzzle before today's date, then you will have the old coordinates! Free free to either email me, or have another conversation with ShadowTiger.
You are looking for a camo'ed film canister. Please use extreme stealth when looking for this cache!!
