Geocache Description:

Cache is located high on top of the hill over looking Stroud. Paths are generally flat if parking at the various sites, although would suggest not buggy friendly.

Rodborough Fort originally called "Fort George" is a prominent landmark overlooking Stroud and can be seen for miles around. Captain George Hawker built it on land leased from the Manor of Rodborough. In 1868 it was rebuilt by Alexander Holcombe on a grander scale and used it as a residence. It has changed hands many times over the years and was even used as a caravan park, but is now privately owned by Dale Vince of Ecotricity & Forest Green Rovers fame. A great location for outstanding views, ensure you visit on a clear day. This cache has been placed with the kind permission of the National Trust
