Waves and Birds Traditional Cache

This cache has been placed on Barren Island out in the Pitt Water. It is accessable by small boat.
Barren Island is located 1.2km from Midway Point, 1.4km from Pittwater Bluff and about 1.5km from 5 Mile Beach. Although the depth of water around Barren Island is quite shallow, there are deep sections between it and Midway Point, where I launched from. It is not advisable to attempt to walk over at low tide from 5 Mile Beach.
The cache is located on the southern side of the island, away from the birds and there is a very small sandy beach head just a few metres to the east of the cache. It is hidden under a slab of rock, a small rock covering it and there is a large tuft of grass in front of that and some small trees to the right. You will need to climb up about 3m from the water.
Total time from launch to return was about 50 minutes, by kayak. Cache contains logbook and pens only.
