Butterfly Gardens Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

EdnKay: We have to archive this cache as accessibility to it has been terminated. A place called "The Rock" by local residents has been a popular swimming site for generations. Recent publicity of the now called "Peace Rock", created a potential hazardous situation and access to the site had to be terminated. As the cache is placed within the off limit area, archiving is a must.

Geocache Description:

Butterfly Gardens in the Kernsville Dam Area

This is an area created by the Blue Mountain Wildlife Inc. Group for the preservation and conservation of the wildlife and wetlands along the Schuylkill River. This area is abloom during the Summer with many species of flowers and plants that attract butterflies and humming birds. While there, take time to look at the iron trestle bridge that was built over 100 years ago and is now part of the Rail Trail walking path. The road is loaded with pot holes so care needs to be taken. Or you may choose to park in the Kernsville Recreational parking lot and walk about 1 mile to the site.
