De naam
We vonden in de gemeente Soest een stukje bos dat wij verder niet konden herleiden: wanneer je op de kaart kijkt, zou je kunnen vermoeden dat het stukje bos bij het landgoed ‘De Paltz’ hoort. Echter dit landgoed is slechts onder begeleiding van een gids te bezichtigen (voor meer informatie hart van de heuvelrugsite) en dit stukje bos is toch echt vrij toegankelijk.
Volgens andere informatie zou dit stukje bos bij ’t Soester Hoogt horen. (Voor meer informatie site IVN) Wanneer je je auto parkeert op het parkeercoördinaat, zou je vermoeden dat deze informatie klopt, maar zodra je het bos inloopt, zie je een bordje: “Burgemeestersbos”. We zijn van alles gaan napluizen, maar konden verder geen documentatie vinden over dit bos, vandaar de titel.
Onze route door het Burgemeestersbos voert je door de hoge zandgronden van de gemeente Soest met kleine heideveldjes met natte en droge delen en een bosgedeelte met naald- en loofbomen met afwisselende onderbegroeiing. De route is ongeveer 1,7 kilometer lang en niet rolstoeltoegankelijk vanwege de paden en de hoogteverschillen. Daarnaast is het bos alleen toegankelijk tussen zonsopgang en zonsondergang.
Voor wie na het vinden van de stash nog zin heeft: vanaf het parkeercoördinaat is het via het onverharde pad 200 meter lopen naar de grafheuvels op de hellingen van het Soester Hoogt, die stammen uit de tijd van de Klokbekercultuur.

Parkeren op: N 52°08.062' - E005°17.365'
Loop naar het eerste coördinaat: N 52°08.151' -E005°17.252' daar staat een hek met een merknaam en een 5-cijferig nummer. Vermenigvuldig het eerste en het tweede cijfer van het 5-cijferig nummer op/aan/in dit hek. Het antwoord is A.
Ga naar: N 52°08.(A*A)+62’ - E005°17.032-A’. Hier staat een paaltje met een getal er op. Tel de twee cijfers van het getal bij elkaar op. Het antwoord is B.
Ga naar: N 52°07.(A*B)+913' - E005°16.A+B+870'. Hoeveel zwarte paaltjes staan er bij de dichtstbijzijnde slagboom? Het antwoord is C.
Ga naar: N 52°08.(A*C)-26' - E005°17.(A/B)+B+100'. Met hoeveel schroeven zijn de planken van het bankje vastgemaakt? Het antwoord is D.

Forgotten Forest
We found in the municipality of Soest a piece of forrest which we could not trace: if you look at the map, you might suspect that the piece of forrest belongs to the estate 'De Paltz'. But this estate is only open to visitors who are accompanied by a guide (for more informationhart van de heuvelrugsite ) and this piece of forest in which the cache lies is open to everyone.
According to other information, this piece of forrest belongs to the area of 't Soester Hoogt. (For more information site IVN). When you park your car at the parking coordinates, you might suspect that this information is correct, but once you walk into the forrest, you see a sign: "Burgemeestersbos”. We tried to find out more, but could not find any documentation on this forest, therefore this name.
Our route takes you through the burgemeestersbos by high sandy soils of the municipality of Soest with small heath fields with wet and dry parts and parts of the forrest with needle- and deciduous trees with varied low vegetation. The route is approximately 1.7 kilometers long and is not wheelchair accessible because of the paths and altitude.
Who, after finding the stash feels like seeing and walking some more: from the parking coordinate over the unpaved path it’s about a 200 meter walk to the burial mounds on the slopes of the Soester Hoogt, which date from the time of the ‘Klokbeker Culture’.
